Yesterday (May 8, 2018) the opening of the exhibition "Illustrations from the Millennium Generation" took place at the Sofia Library, during which the big news was announced: this exhibition marks the beginning of the partnership between the Sofia Library and the website "Bulgarian Illustration". A cooperation agreement was signed between the two parties to organize and hold the National Biennial of Bulgarian Illustration. This event will mark two anniversaries in 2018 - the Sofia Library celebrates its 90th anniversary, and Bulgarian illustration celebrates 50 years since the first national exhibition.

Expect the conditions for submitting works for the exhibition and more information about the organization soon. And if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

And as a prelude to the big events, 30 young Bulgarian illustrators living in Bulgaria, Spain, England, Hungary, France, Italy, Austria, Belgium were invited to this exhibition, and their works even transcend these borders. Thanks to the funds of the Sofia Library, in addition to the illustrations that gave the exhibition an easel feel, books created by the artists were also included. In this way, the guests of the exhibition can actually “connect” young Bulgarian illustrators with some of the newest and highest quality publications on the domestic market. The illustrations by Boris Pramatarov for the publishing house "Sonm", the layout and illustrations for the new edition of "Wild Stories" by Nikolay Khaitov by Lyuba Dashinova, the illustrations by Nelly Drumeva for "Masters of Fairies" by Vesela Flamburari, the books by Katya Antonova for the publishing house "Rybka" with illustrations by Martina Andonova, the new series by the publishing house "List" with illustrations by Mila Yaneva-Tabakova, the new edition of "Alice in Wonderland" illustrated by Milena Radeva and realized by the publishing house "Softpress", etc.

The exhibition in the "Sofia" hall is open to visitors from Monday to Saturday in the central building of the Sofia Library at Slaveykov Square №4.

We from the website "Bulgarian Illustration" express our joy and gratitude for the support of the Sofia Library and hope that this is the beginning of a long and fruitful cooperation.
