On Sunday, March 3, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., children's writer and animal lover Elena Pavlova will be visiting the Great Basilica of Plovdiv to present the trivia game she is developing with Milena Radeva, entitled "100 Birds," and to give away 50 sets* of it to the most curious visitors.
The game is inspired by the unique mosaics of birds in the basilica and aims to promote our rich cultural heritage among adolescents by presenting it in an accessible and fun way. It consists of 52 cards with questions and answers, a game board, 4 colored checkers, instructions, and brief information about the depicted birds, nestled in a simple and travel-friendly box.
The "100 Birds" project is being implemented by the Union of Bulgarian Illustrators with the financial support of the "America for Bulgaria" Foundation and in partnership with the "Ancient Plovdiv" Municipal Institute.
The presentation of the game "100 Birds" will be accompanied by an exhibition (from February 26, 2024) of eleven educational boards with additional information about some of the feathered artifacts in the Great Basilica, which can be visited every day of the week between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Admission: 12.00 BGN for adults and 5.00 BGN for students.
