I have shared more than once that for me the second day of the festival is far more intense than the first, for the simple reason that I can’t wait to find out who will be the winners of the National Award “Konstantin Konstantinov” and who will be the nominees. But, the day is long, until we get to the award ceremony there are still many things to happen.
The second day of the Festival is traditionally reserved, in addition to the award ceremony, for the presentation of Petar Stanimirov, Boris Stoilov and Prof. Viktor Paunov. This year the theme was “In the world of illustration and comics with new technologies”. ADCOM is the main sponsor of the master class and the theme was a great opportunity to pay attention to the new printing technologies that are entering our hectic everyday life and offer smaller runs, lower prices, but also higher quality. And as a counterpoint to the conversation, the mentors shared with the participants the film “Rainbow – Stories in Pictures”, which was created in 2017.

Of course, several book premieres took place during the day, including those by Asen Sirakov, Dimana Gulyashka, Nikola Raykov and Toni Tellalov, Slavi Stoev.
In the early afternoon, the parade with fairy-tale characters followed, which is traditionally organized in the late afternoon of the second day of the festival and includes the actors from “Fireter – Theater of Fire and Shadows” and over 400 students from various Sliven schools, as well as children-guests of the festival. A special jury determined the winners of the awards for the most original carnival costume. This year, teachers and parents also participated in the parade with carnival costumes. The awards were presented on the open stage on the square in front of the municipality.

This year too, the National Children's Book Festival in Sliven managed to tear us away from the reality we have been living in for the past few years, we leave with the hope that we will return next year.
