First solo exhibition by Alexandra Georgieva, in which the main object of the exhibition will be her second printed publication – zine “Unusual images”, accompanied by author’s illustrations, installations and merch.
“I have always been impressed by the strange appearance of certain objects or people. More specifically – by all the absurd characters that hide in them, all the diversity and inadequate everyday situations they find themselves in.
It all started when 5 months ago I discovered the page “Unusual Images” – meaningless, strange and unrelated photos of people. Some have been photoshopped, some have not, or some who have simply had a bad day (you can see for yourself or not). I was so impressed by them, I started drawing them every day, in an effort to bring this absurdity to the forefront, illustrating it even more grotesquely, until the need to do something more serious appeared – namely the formation of an entire book body. It expresses my personal artistic point of view, refracted through the stories of these random photographs, deforming them into playful and funny illustrations, through some elements added by me, which enhance the grotesque in them as well.”
