Bulgarian children will be able to join the global celebrations for Elmer Day for the first time!
The plaid elephant Elmer from the eponymous children's book series by British author and illustrator David McKee has long won the hearts of young readers. Every year, children around the world celebrate Elmer's Day, when all the elephants are painted in bright colors, and Elmer himself is in "elephant gray." Bulgarian children will be able to join the initiative for the first time on May 27, 2017.
As part of the Spring Book Fair, the Children's Books Foundation and the Jeanette 45 Publishing House are organizing a fun book festival on May 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the National Palace of Culture. Children will hear excerpts from the Elmer books and will be able to join a workshop on writing fairy tales with magnets and various creative workshops. Illustrators Milena Radeva and Romina Beneventi will also join the campaign.
