Every year, the international comics festival in Lucerne organizes a competition that gives artists from all over the world the opportunity to compare their work. The theme for 2018 is “Enough”.
“We have so much around us. We travel more than ever and explore the most remote places. This has an impact on our environment. Travel, food production, clothing – all products need soil, water, air and other natural resources. What do you, your family and friends really need to feel happy? How much is enough?” ask the competition organizers.
Here are the conditions for participation:
Deadline: January 2, 2018 (date of postmark)
Form: fumetto.ch/wettbewerb (with user number), print and attach the application
Format: A4 or A3 (other formats will be disqualified)
Form: comics only (stories in picture form), no applications via email.
Number of pages: maximum 4 (only one comic story)
Labeling: name, address, telephone number, e-mail, user number, date of birth and numbering of each page on the back
Packaging: sturdy envelope, no rolls
Return: For Swiss residents: stamps or money in the amount of the required stamps. For foreigners: 15 euros. If the postage is not fixed or insufficient, the works will not be sent back but will be kept for one year only.
Categories: Cat. 1: 18 years or older / Cat. 2: 13-17 years old / Cat. 3: up to 12 years old
Schools: attach a list of names and details (see "Labeling") of the participating students and information on school, class, teacher, e-mail and telephone number.

Exhibition:
Forty to fifty comics will be nominated by the jury for the exhibition during the festival. Those that are not nominated will be displayed in folders.
Awards:
Fumetto will award three prizes in each category. There will also be an award for best screenplay,
regardless of the categories. Festival visitors will be able to vote for the Audience Choice Award.

Confirmation of participation will be sent by the end of January 2018. Works must be returned by the end of August 2018.
