In the last discussion of the year organized by the National Book Center – NDK, we will seek an answer to the question “how contemporary children’s books reach children”.

One of the reasons why the NBC put children’s literature in focus in 2017 is precisely this – to meet and build a bridge between its creators and those for whom it is intended.

It is no secret that parents and teachers find it very difficult to navigate among the novelties on the market and often approach authors they do not know or are not part of the curriculum with distrust. This is exactly where the role of mediators of contemporary children’s literature comes in, who are most often non-governmental organizations, with some of which the National Book Center – NDK established partnerships in 2017 – the Year of the Children’s Book.

The discussion, which will be held on November 18 (Saturday) at 4:00 PM at the "Pen" club, will be attended by Valentina Stoeva from the "Children's Books" Foundation, who will present the "Magic Pearl" competition; Olga Klisurova - "Traveling Books of Stara Zagora" Association; Petya Chalakova - organizer of the "Book March" at the Bulgarian Children's Book Club; Victoria Biserova from the "Enthusiast" publishing house - initiator of the "National Children's Book Week" and organizer of the "Old Paper for a New Book" campaign, and the moderator of the discussion will be Alexander Krastev.
