Today at 3:00 p.m. at the A&G Art Meeting gallery in Varna, the presentation of the latest project by artist Mila Yaneva and author Artur Roshchin – “In the footsteps of my first treasure” took place. The publication is a comic book in which the story is told only with pictures, and the text is built by the children based on the game with the illustrations. The work is definitely for children who love adventures. With the artistic techniques of the comic, the authors Mila Yaneva and Artur Roshchin tell the story of a boy who is looking for a treasure bequeathed by his grandfather. A story in images instead of words. Here is what Mila herself shared: "I told it through pictures, and in fact that's why we chose the medium of comics, because it tells stories in sequence. In our case, we were interested in how interesting the children would be and, accordingly, whether they would read our idea and our story in the exact way we wanted to convey it or whether they would provoke themselves in another way to reach the same treasure." Mila does not know how many pictures are in the book, but they are all used in the comic book in their real sizes (and they are quite small!). Mila Yaneva graduated from the National Academy of Arts, majoring in "Book and Printed Graphics", and then studied at LUCA School of Arts - Brussels. In Bulgaria, she is part of the platform for independent Bulgarian author publications TI – RE and the creative collective CHARK, and this week another of her books, which we have already mentioned, was released – “Morris, or the Fisherman’s House.”
