The vacation is over and we are all going back to school. As we already mentioned in September, we contacted one of the largest publishers in the “textbook industry” – Prosveta Publishing House, to introduce its artists.
Lyubomir Mihaylov
Education: I graduated from university in Sofia and before I started drawing I worked as a civil engineer.
Professional experience: I have developed myself as an artist and my interests are mainly in the fields of cartooning, illustration, book design, and posters.
Exhibitions and awards: I have participated in exhibitions of cartooning, illustration, posters, and graphics in Bulgaria and abroad. I have received numerous awards for my work, some of which are very prestigious for me.
Illustrated works: I was an artist at the publishing house "Technika", in the editorial office of the newspaper "Starshel" as a cartoonist, designer and artist of the magazine FEP (Fantasy, Evristika, Prognostics), "Dino and Dina" - a children's magazine, the magazine PC (Post Skripum), I am also the author of fifty movie posters for the former "Kinoprasadnije". I have drawn covers for almost all publishing houses before the so-called democratic changes. With children's illustration and design of textbooks I collaborate with the publishing houses "Prosveta", "Bulvest - 2000", "Anubis", "Ariadna", "Abagar" and others. I also own a graphic studio "Mishlena OOD" in partnership with Emil Kokushev. For several years I have also collaborated with the Swiss magazine "Nebelshpalter", thanks to which I was able to build a home in Sofia.
I am the chairman of the "Caricature" section at the Union of Bulgarian Artists in the period 2005-2015.
