Two names (and a pseudonym):
Sabin Boykinov
Introduce yourself in a few words:
Artist, illustrator and traveler who tries to balance all his favorite hobbies, family and work.
What did you graduate from?
The National School of Arts "Prof. Veselin Stoyanov" in Ruse.
I was born in this city and my creative path began there.
What is your professional experience so far?
I have been working in the field of video games for about 20 years as a conceptual artist.
I have worked on many different titles. This was a natural continuation of classical drawing, which I combined with my interest in new technologies.
In the rest of my time, I deal with illustration and participate in various art projects
Tell us more about your work (style, technique, interests, way of working):
My work is mainly related to digital drawing and creating the surrounding world around the characters in a game. I have always been drawn to the landscape and this helped me easily choose my profession in the field of games.
The main thing that always excites me in my work is how to tell stories through the surrounding world.
The rest of my time is dedicated to classical drawing, mostly pencil illustrations in the style of fantastic realism as they call it lately.
I try to spend as much time as possible on my personal projects which are often related to the legends of different peoples related to the sea and travel.
Exhibitions/participations/performances/awards:
I have several solo and many participations in collective exhibitions from the time before I started working in the field of games.
Fellow of the Canadian foundation The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation
Award of the Biennale of Illustration 2024
Happiness Garden gallery IYN Osaka, Japan 2023
Flower Decorations gallery IYN

Dream World gallery IYN Osaka, Japan, 2022
Illustrated works:
I have participated in various thematic publications but I do not have a fully illustrated book.
Someday that will happen.
Who is your favorite illustrator?
It is very difficult for me to name one author but Sean Tan, Olga and Andrei Dugin are among my favorites.
What is your favorite illustrated book?
"40 Days in the Desert" by the French comic artist and illustrator Möbius
What book do you dream of illustrating?
A very, very difficult question, but the book that impressed me the most is "On the Hunt for a Small Pike" by Juhani Karila. I would love to work on it someday.
