On August 26 and 27, the second part of this year's urban culture festival "Sofia Breathes" 2017 will take place. The program will also present part of the work of the artist Dragostin Kiryakov - MORPH. An architect by education, a 3D artist by profession, and an illustrator by vocation, he will present to the audience and guests of the festival a selection of space animals expressing different emotions, facing different vicissitudes, as a kind of metaphor for our everyday life.
Illustrations... perhaps not in the classic sense closely tied to an artistic text and its strict adherence, but rather illustrations of ourselves and the world around us.
"In my free time I make illustrations, and they themselves have always been an integral part of me, from an early age I found drawing very exciting and I think I have almost never stopped, as I have always used it as an outlet when I want to escape reality. It has always been very difficult for me to express myself in words, so I prefer to do it through some kind of visual art, leaving the viewer in most cases to interpret what they see, although seemingly my things are quite easy to read, they always have something deeper in them, if you spend enough time on them you may find it. Usually my illustrations are dictated by some emotion or something that has made a strong impression on me, with galaxies being an integral part of each of them, as each one carries its own mystical, extraordinary, full of strangeness." - shared with us the artist.
MORPH joins the Sofia Breathes 2017 festival at the invitation of the organizers, and the event itself has managed to maintain its unique concept and mission for the seventh consecutive year.
