On 14.07.2025, the Association "Union of Bulgarian Illustrators" launched the implementation of project BG-RRP-11.020-0052-C01 "Electronic Almanac of Bulgarian Illustrators", funded by the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan.

The total amount of eligible costs for the project is 79,697.15 BGN, with the grant amounting to 89,99% or 71,722.08 BGN. European funding. Its duration is 8 months.

The main goal of the project is to promote Bulgarian illustrators and authors on visual arts topics through a sustainable and accessible platform, a showcase of national visual art and a bridge between Bulgarian artists and the international audience, thus strengthening the capacity of Bulgarian cultural and creative industries to work at the European level and promoting the international distribution of Bulgarian artistic works and cultural products.

To this end, we set the following goals:

Increasing the visibility of Bulgarian illustrators by providing information about their biographies, creative processes and works, through interviews and articles. Through regular publications every 2 weeks, the project will present their unique styles and approaches and help strengthen their image in the homeland and abroad.

The specifically built website will serve as a central resource for publishing interviews, articles, news, online exhibitions and video business cards. This platform will provide convenient access to information, allowing users to easily familiarize themselves with the illustrators' works and their context.

The ultimate goal of the project is to compile the presentations into an e-book, available for free download. It will serve not only as a reference book, but also as a significant resource for researchers, galleries and art lovers. By providing free access, the project participates in the democratization of cultural information.

Translation of the materials aims to reach an international audience and allow artists to present themselves on a wider stage. The emphasis on English-language presentations will help build a network of fans and increase awareness of Bulgarian arts. In a sustainable perspective, the project also aims to expand language coverage - increasing accessibility in various European languages, including Spanish, German and French. This will help attract new viewers and supporters in EU countries and popularize Bulgarian visual culture.

The project plans to explore opportunities for an online and printed edition of the almanac in cooperation with publishers from different EU countries. This strategy will contribute to the long-term sustainability of the project and increase the accessibility of the materials to a new audience.
By promoting Bulgarian illustrators internationally, the project seeks to provide them with new business opportunities and realization in the European and global markets, which is especially important in the context of the globalized economy.

Combining these goals will contribute to the development and promotion of Bulgarian visual culture, both nationally and internationally, and will help preserve cultural heritage.

The project will be presented during the Frankfurt Book Fair. Tat Creative Publishing House will have a stand at the exhibition, where we will present our Almanac free of charge. The exhibition is in the period 15-17.10.2025.
