Here are some first impressions shared by the National Book Center on its website about the Bologna Book Fair:
“The priorities of the National Book Center in the Year of the Children’s Book do not differ from the priorities of the largest children’s book festival.
One of the leading topics is: “Hopes and Fears” – it is related to the fears that the world is becoming digital and the hope that the book world will become a real part of this in an adequate way. This was also the topic of the first discussion of the National Book Center.
The other big… focus is on contemporary illustrators of children’s literature. That is why their exhibition has been turned into a very practical place for rest, meetings, leafing through and reading books.”
