And another international news from the last few days – Milena Radeva’s book “The Street Where the Dollar Tree Grew” is among the finalists in the children’s book category for the Golden Book Award 2017. The competition has several stages. In the last stage (before announcing the winner), the jury will consider not only the illustrations, but also the text, the layout and the overall connection between the story and the illustrations of the publications. The same book won the “Little Shop of Readers” award in 2014, where the nominated works were evaluated by readers. The author of “The Street Where the Dollar Tree Grew” is the American writer of Italian origin Mary Ann Vitale, whose grandson is the little boy in the story. Milena Radeva used his photos to recreate his image in her illustrations. The book already has a second edition.
