The traveling exhibition “Boris Dimovski’s Cartoons and Nikolay Khaitov’s Heroes” is visiting the “Lyuben Gaidarov” art gallery in Pernik. The exhibition was prepared by the sons of the writer Nikolay Khaitov – Alexander and Zdravets, and the “Pamet” foundation, whose chairman is Zdravets Khaitov.
Visitors can purchase Khaitov’s literary masterpiece “Wild Stories”, which has returned in an anniversary edition – 50 years after its first publication. The new edition is entirely aimed at the younger generation. The cover and the stories are illustrated by the young Lyuba Dashinova from the National School of Fine Arts “Ilia Petrov”. She won the competition announced by the “Pamet” foundation for illustrations of “Wild Stories”. 10 young artists from the same school participated with their works. Almost all of them drew on the story “The Goat’s Horn”. The goal was to see how young people accept Khaitov’s stories.
The gallery also features original cartoons and caricatures by Boris Dimovski. The exhibition features cartoons sketched by the great cartoonist on hastily torn pieces of paper. Among his works, you can see the faces of famous politicians from the transition period such as Ahmed Dogan, Petar Dertliev, writers Nikolay Khaitov and Yordan Radichkov, actor Yosif Sarchadzhiev, journalist Kevork Kevorkian, director Khacho Boyadzhiev and many others. The exhibition also presents sketches based on Latin maxims.
