The idea for the joint project "Slovoplet" wandered for a long time through Emilian's visual stories, before finding its anchor in the unique handwriting of Kalin (Stopan) and receiving the support of Fontfabric. Thus, the mission to spread the Bulgarian digital Cyrillic alphabet was finally formed and continues.
The journey of a font from ink on paper to vectors on the big and small screen inspired Emilian to make the short film "Slovoplet"!
We are happy to invite you to its premiere screening in honor of the beauty and centuries-old history of Bulgarian writing!
And to make the whole experience unforgettable, everyone will be able to take a piece of "Slovoplet" with them, namely a new functioning font from Fontfabric, based on Stopan's handwriting.

Kalin Daskalov – Stopan is a self-taught bookbinder in Sofia. He draws inspiration from our handwritten monuments, but modifies them using more refined Western techniques and materials. His aspiration is to translate the book from a craft object into an artistic object, placing it in a new, fantastic Bulgarian context. This dialogue with an interrupted tradition finds expression through the joint work of his entire family. Stopan writes the author's texts and engravings on handmade paper, bound into multilayered works of art in book form. His father Ivo Daskalov is a jeweler, engraver and carpenter. His mother Gergana Daskalova makes artistic knitting, weaving and embroidery.
