A very interesting discussion-lecture is about to take place this Friday in the halls of the New Bulgarian University. At the invitation of Senior Assistant Professor Dr. Zaharina Petrova-Prodanova on June 18, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. Stefan Peev will deliver a lecture on the topic "Why We Are Indebted to the Cyrillic Alphabet". The seminar is organized by the NBU, and admission is open to everyone.
Stefan Peev's work, as he writes on his website localfonts.eu, is mainly focused on the knowledge and use of the Cyrillic alphabet in the online space: "This site is dedicated to fonts and their localization. Its main concern is the flexibility of Cyrillic forms. Here you will find various fonts, carefully classified as traditional Cyrillic, Bulgarian Cyrillic, Serbian Cyrillic, Macedonian Cyrillic, as well as Unicode fonts for ancient scripts, medieval Cyrillic fonts, links to Greek fonts. Our daily task is to identify fonts in their adaptation to the different forms of written languages."
We will be interested to hear what he will share firsthand about the Cyrillic alphabet.
