The First Hundred. In May, we celebrate this first three-digit number in the history of “Vij!” – a good occasion to invite you to a very special mini retrospective with prints of some of the best “faces” of the magazine over the years – the covers.
The photography and illustrations that you will see often go beyond their original role: the covers are not only the important first meeting of readers with the thematic issues, but their authors are some of the most interesting and recognizable artists in the country.
“Vij! The First Hundred” brings together works by established names, creative personalities around whom there will be more noise yet, people who easily change their role and way of expression. Arranged side by side, the covers suggest that good ideas do not freeze in one place, and the visual and the verbal do not have to be at war.
During the opening, we will additionally offer you a walk between the past and present of “Vij!” – all issues from our nine-year history will be available on site. To make it even more fun and enjoyable, Charlie (We Like Kitsch, Les Animaux Sauvages) will take care of our musical mood, and our Fashion Days partners are preparing additional surprises. The exhibition will be at KO-OP until May 23, after which we will take it to the sea in the summer – to the place with which we associate the beginning.
Participating artists are Andrea Popyordanova, Anton Georgiev, Bettino Assa, Boris Pramatarov, Borislava Karadzhova, Veronika Belcheva, Viktoria Georgieva – Mouse, Vladimir Vassilev, Vyara Boyadzhieva, Georgi Stoyanov, Dimo Shehlarski – Dilom, Evgeniya Nikolova, Zhana Mitkova, Ivan Moskov, Ivan Bogdanov, Kiril Peychev, Mariana Sarbova, Maria Nalbantova, Maria Sabotinova, Mila Lozanova, Mila Yaneva-Tabakova, Mira Miroslavova, Mikhail Novakov, Nikolay Grozny, Nikola Mihov, Rositsa Raleva, Sofia Dimitrova, Stanislav Belovski, Teodor Georgiev, Tihomir Stoyanov, Trendafila Trendafilaova, Hristo Yordanov, Yasen Zgurovski, Blood Becomes Water.
